TwoTwo Cute Ballerina Birthday Party

If there’s one thing that just about every two-year-old LOVES to do, it’s dance! They’ve already mastered crawling and walking and are more than ready to be in the spotlight with their adorable wiggles and spins. If this sounds like your soon-to-be-two toddler, you’ll love this adorable ballerina birthday theme!

Elizabeth is the mastermind behind The Curated Kids lifestyle and parenting blog. She’s a mama of three adorable children, and Caroline, her youngest, just recently celebrated her second birthday in the cutest way possible. Even at two, Caroline has a strong personality with definite likes and dislikes, and one of her favorite things to do is dance. When it came to a theme for her daughter’s second birthday, Elizabeth knew without a doubt that it had to be a ballerina birthday. So, she came up with this TwoTwo (aka Tutu) Cute Tiny Dancer party theme for her little ballerina.

Ballerina Birthday Party Supplies & Decorations

Elizabeth had known that a ballet theme had to be Caroline’s next birthday party since the day after she turned one. On the morning of her party, Elizabeth dressed Caroline in a lovely pink tutu perfect for her tiny ballerina. Caroline posed for some pictures with a few of the party decorations that Elizabeth had set up before the party really began. Sparkling disco balls were placed on one end of a table beside a white jug filled with pink and red roses while one of our Light Pink Jumbo #2 Balloons and pink wooden letters for Caroline’s initials sat on the other side. Elizabeth even included a birthday girl pennant from Cami Monet and a number wand from Uni Girl Co. that Caroline could dance around with during the party.

For the rest of the party area, Elizabeth pulled some inspiration from our Large Pirouette Ballet Plates. Just like the curtain and the tutus on the plate design, the party was covered in shades of pink with metallic accents. In this inspiration flatlay, you can see some Silver Iridescent Tinsel Fringe in the background beneath the plate, some Mini Disco Balls, and gold glitter butterfly garlands for extra sparkle. Pink garlands from Pearl and Jane perfectly complemented the shades of pink in the Ballet Slippers Napkins and Caroline’s pennant, wand, and custom crown.

Since Caroline’s favorite place to dance was by the fireplace (aka her stage), Elizabeth knew that she had to decorate the area in a special way. Over the ornate gold mirror that always sits on their fireplace, Elizabeth hung our Ballerina Garland, making it look as if mini ballerinas were dancing across the glass. She even decorated the mantle itself to look like a stage. She draped the mantle in pink satin fabric and bunched up the excess with some tape and ribbon to form the iconic scalloped shape that most theater curtains have. Afterward, she dressed it with some extra silver fringe garland to look like sparkling tassels.

Unfortunately, as the party date was approaching, Elizabeth began to realize that the large custom backdrop she had ordered wouldn’t arrive on time. Luckily, she had ordered plenty of decorations from our shop to fill up the empty space. She DIY’d a smaller fringe curtain and used foam board and wrapping paper to make arch backdrops with fun sayings like ‘Tiny Dancer’ and ‘Two Fancy’ to decorate the area above her snack table where the original backdrop was going to go. The rest of the space was layered with Pink and Silver Iridescent Tinsel Fringe Garlands, a Golden Star Garland, and Pearl Pink and Lavender Star Shaped Balloons. And, of course, a gold happy birthday banner was strung above it. Elizabeth also included a few floral accents on this wall. Our Rose Blossom Garland or even our Princess Crowns and Pom Pom Tulle Banner Set would be other fantastic options for a ballet-themed party since they fit in with the color scheme so well.

For her main table, Elizabeth kept things pretty simple. Since this was a party for a toddler, choosing a simpler table is best, especially when curious little hands are wandering around. Elizabeth covered her table with a pale pink tablecloth with a matching pink glitter table runner going down the center. For your own party, our Ditsy Floral Table Runner would be another great option, or choose our Metallic Gold Glitter Table Runner for some shine. For plates, Elizabeth used our Ballerina Plates, perfect for her ballet theme, and paired them with Coral Pink Large Napkins and forks from our Woodland Wooden Cutlery Set. For drinks, Elizabeth set out a few pink plastic glasses. However, for a more child-safe option, you could use either our Ballet Cups or Ballerina Girl Paper Cups, both of which would go well beside the Ballet Plates.

On her snack table, Elizbeth set out a variety of Caroline’s favorite desserts – donuts! The table was decorated simply with more disco balls in a variety of sizes while white, pink, and gold cake stands held stacks of donuts. The donuts themselves were decorated with the pink ballerina decoration sticks from our Ballerina Cupcake Kit.

When it came time for Caroline to make her birthday wish, Elizabeth brought over a small white cake stand with Caroline’s favorite pink donuts with rainbow sprinkles. On the donuts, Elizabeth added a few more ballerinas along with tulle pom poms and glitter number treat sticks. Of course, candles were needed for Caroline to make her birthday wish! Elizbeth added two tall pearl white candles. However, our Gold Glitter Birthday Candles or our Tall Pink Ombre Beeswax Candles would be perfect too!

A ballerina party would only be complete by giving the guests a chance to become ballerinas themselves! Among the other activities Elizabeth planned for this party, she also made up small ballerina boxes that the girls could take home. Inside each box, she placed a small blush and eyeshadow so the girls could get ready for the stage and some fun accessories like sticker earrings, scrunchies, and hair clips. She also included a few ballet themed temporary tattoos and, of course, a small makeup wipe to clean up with afterward.

Elizabeth’s TwoTwo Cute Ballerina birthday party was so adorable and absolutely perfect for little Caroline! Caroline pirouetted and jetéd her heart out all day in her little tutu and fawned over all of the ballerinas decorating her party. We are so glad that we were a small part of making this party come to life!
